In Oracle iStore R12i - Product Comparison (New Feature) Part - 1, I have stated that oracle has introduced "Product Comparison " feature in iStore, and this is completely designed in Oracle ADF . As of now I am not sure when oracle will roll this feature, but their sales team is already talking about it.

Apart from "Product Comparison " feature they have introduced the Carousel view to display the related product at the bottom of the iStore page , and again they this feature is designed in Oracle ADF.
Advantage of Carousel view that user need not to scroll up and down to view the related product .

Oracle iStore R12i - Product Comparison -

Oracle in R12i iStore has introduced a new feature "Product Comparison" to compare the product .This new feature has  designed in Oracle ADF , and when implemented let user compare the product side by side ,and user can compare up to 10 product at any time.

Since it is implemented in Oracle ADF , user has option to drag and drop the product while doing comparison.
Implementation Need - User need to implement 2 new profile options to implement this new feature.

Oracle iStore R12i - One Click Shopping List

One Click Shopping List
In Oracle iStore R12i  Oracle has introduced a new feature , One Click Shopping List (to allow user to add items in shopping list)Though we do have shopping list feature in 11i (but has it's own limitations), but in R12i oracle has made it more intuitive.

Now in R12i user has ability to add item in shopping list on the fly , that means user no longer need to save the shopping Cart as Shopping list ( and rename it) , rather they have now drop down list control available as "Add to cart" , moment user click on this "add to cart" drop down control , system will let user either create a new Shopping list (let user create Shopping list on the the fly) or add the item to existing Shipping list,

A new profile has been introduced for this "Enable Shopping List management " , that need to be set before user want to use this feature.

This new feature is available to the Register users only, and Guest user need to login to iStore before they can use this feature.

Oracle iStore R12i - Integration with Oracle SCM and Financials

Another advantage with Oracle iStore is , it is very well integrated with Oracle SCM and Financials modules.

For

• Order Processing it is integrated with Oracle Order Management.

• For Product configuration it is well connected to BOM /Configuration.
• For Shopping cart it is integrated with Oracle Order Capture.

Oracle iStore - Advantages of Access to existing Individual account, a R12i feature -2

In my last post Oracle iStore - Access to existing Individual account, a R12i feature I have explained that Oracle has added a new feature to let existing iStore customer  to create a New Online account .


This new feature has many advantages

1. it is safe ( as customer need not to share confidential information like C Card etc with CSR).
2. Once Online Order got created , all the old orders placed through non -online sources migrated to the Online account.
3. error free.
4. 24 * 7 Access
5. Save Cost ( as ct. is not sharing their confidential information , their is less chance of mis-handling of their data and getting sue by customers :) ) .

"Access to existing account" will work only if profile IBE_INDIVIDUAL_PARTIALS has set , if it is not set then user  will not be able to create account online.

In R12i Oracle has added a new feature  Access to existing Individual account. With this new feature  existing customer who usually placed the Order through the CSR  can now create Online account by Navigating to link Access to existing Individual account.

Once existing customer navigate to this link , system will prompt user to enter 

1. Existing Account #  .
2. Phone #
3. Zip Code

• Enter preferred UserName ( that customer want to use for online a/c)
• Password.

Once customer provides all above details , iStore will Validate the customer's credentials , and create Online account.

Once online account got created user can just place the order online , he/she need not to wait on CSR to create their Orders.

istore (How to Shut down Payment book ) R12i New Feature -1

In R12i Oracle has added many new features in iStore. In next few blog postings I will talk about (very short)  these features

1.In R12i , Oracle has provided feature to shut down the Payment Book .Now in R12i we have new profile option Retain Credit card preference , by setting this to 'N' we can now Shut down the Payment Book.

With payment Book Shut down , System will not display the Credit Card information in the drop down list while doing check out , rather System will prompt user to enter the Credit card Information every time user perform the Check out.

Once Payment book is shut down , it will reflect to all the B2C and B2B customer .But if your business has requirement to SHUT DOWN payment book just for B2C customer , and still want to use it for B2B customer , it can be achieved by means of setting Role  IBE_USER_PAYMENT_BOOK.
